Prayer for the Guardian

Prayer for the Guardian

--Shoghi Effendi--

O my Lord, my Beloved! I cherish the hope that from now on Thou mayest bestow upon the Guardian of Thy Cause--He who is Thy Branch numbered with the companions of the Crimson Ark, the Ark which God hath prepared for the people of Baha: All the Strength and Vigor which will enable Him to pursue over a long and unbroken period of strenuous labor, the Supreme Task of achieving the Speedy Triumph of the Cause of Baha’u’llah and His Mighty Covenant.

Thou art verily the God of Power, the Help in Peril, the All-Glorious, the Almighty.

CONVERSATION WITH GOD

“Prayer,” says ‘Abdu’l-Baha, “is conversation with God.” In order that God may make known His Mind and Will to men, He must speak to them in a language which they can understand, and this He does by the mouths of His Holy Prophets. While these Prophets are alive in the body They speak with men face to face and convey to them the Message of God, and after Their death Their message continues to reach men’s minds through Their recorded sayings and writings. But this is not the only way in which God can commune with and inspire those whose hearts are seeking after truth, wherever they are, and whatever their native race or tongue. By this language the Manifestation continues to hold converse with the faithful after His departure from the material world. Christ continued to converse with and inspire His disciples after His crucifixion. In fact He influenced them more powerfully than before; and with other Prophets it has been the same. ‘Abdu’l-Baha speaks much of this spiritual language. He says, for instance:

“We should speak in the language of heaven--in the language of the spirit—for there is a language of the spirit and heart. It is as different from our language as our own language is different from that of the animals, who express themselves only by cries and sounds.

“It is the language of the spirit which speaks to God. When, in prayer, we are freed from all outward things and turn to God, then it is as if in our hearts we hear the voice of God. Without words we speak, we communicate, we converse with God and hear the answer....All of us, when we attain to a truly spiritual condition, can hear the Voice of God.”

The Internal Bath

 The Internal Bath

How to take an internal bath:

1.     Dissolve two teaspoons of salt into two pints (one quart: four cups) of warm water.

2.     Drink the mixture as quickly as possible on an empty stomach.

3.     Think to yourself that it tastes like warm chicken soup.

4.     It should take effect almost immediately.

5.     Stay near a toilet for the next three hours.

6.     Usually done in the morning on an empty stomach,

7.     or later in the evening hours after dinner on an empty stomach.

On November 4, 1957, the first Guardian of the Cause of God, Shoghi Effendi Afnan, died during the Asian Flu epidemic of that year in London, England. That was the very same time that the Knights of the Lord, Drs. Opal and Leland Jensen were setting out to pioneer in Paraguay; when they both contracted the Asian Flu themselves, and were then waylaid outside of El Paso, Texas.  What to do?

Being Drs of naturopathic medicine, the Jensen’s knew exactly what they needed to do; and as Baha’is, they both knew that no doctor ever healed anyone, but that “God brings the healing,” says ‘Abdu’l-Baha: in other words remove the impediment and the body heals itself. According to wikipedia:

“The 1957–1958 Asian flu pandemic, was a global pandemic of Influenza A Virus  ) subtype H2N2 that originated in Guizhou, China. A 2016 study estimated the number of deaths caused by the 1957-1958 pandemic at 1.1 million worldwide.” (wiki)

Etymology

The name "coronavirus" is derived from Latin corona, meaning "crown" or "wreath", itself a borrowing from Greek κορώνη korṓnē, "garland, wreath". The name was coined by June Almeida and David Tyrrell who first observed and studied human coronaviruses. The word was first used in print in 1968 by an informal group of virologists in the journal Nature to designate the new family of viruses.[8] The name refers to the characteristic appearance of virions (the infective form of the virus) by electron microscopy, which have a fringe of large, bulbous surface projections creating an image reminiscent of the solar corona or halo. This morphology is created by the viral spike peplomers, which are proteins on the surface of the virus. “ (Wiki)

Being Drs. of natural medicine, Doc and Opal knew what to do when they found they had contracted the Asian Flu in November of 1957. They pulled over their car and rented a motel room outside of El Paso, TX. Then they both took the internal bath, and went on a lemon juice and water fast for about 2 weeks. When they emerged from their healing, they thought it best to contact the closest Baha’i Center in the area to find out what the current news was in the faith, as they had been incommunicado for about two weeks, and things change very rapidly in the Cause of God! That was then when they found out that whereas they had survived the Asian Flu, the reports of Shoghi Effendi’s death showed that he had not.

Now before we learned the full reality of that situation in London in ’57 from the testimony of Mason Remey (corroborated also within explicit prophetic holy texts of our faith) we learned how to perform these type of spiritual and medical cleanses  (in times of pandemic and in regular flu season too) using the method of the internal bath and the lemon juice and water fasting, that Drs. Opal and Leland explained.  Also  used in warding off the common cold, or regular  flu, we would sometimes use steam from a teapot to purify the nasal passages, sinuses,  and upper respiratory; as well as gargle with salt water for a sore throat; take Grape Fruit Seed (GSE) extract; and a honey spoon, with the Most Great Name.  More inspired ideas like these can be found in the Baha’i Booklet: “Throne of the Inner Temple.”

According to Ramin Neshati (2000): “The Persian spelling for khata given here (with 'ta') means sin or error. When spelled with 't' it means China (Cathay). The latter is more likely the intent as the symbolism pertains to the musk-laden wind blowing from the Far East” therefore he translates Baha’u’llah’s verse from the Rashh-i-Ama as: “The east wind, musk-laden, from Cathay).”

Thy name is my healing, O my God, and remembrance of Thee is my remedy.

Nearness to Thee is my hope, and love for Thee is my companion.

Thy mercy to me is my healing and my succor

in both this world and the world to come.

Thou, verily, art the All-Bountiful, the All-Knowing, the All-Wise.

Baha'u'llah

The Return of Christ

As the Bab gave his life so that Baha'u'llah should live, Baha'u'llah and 'Abdu'l-Baha gave their lives that the Davidic lineage should last for ever as the Presidents of the true Universal House of Justice of Baha'u'llah. The line of David has continued safe in America from the days of the Master's visit to that continent in 1912 when he rested for a day in the Rocky Mountains and where God has established his seed for ever.
